Nevada with Wonderhussy #2(2)

Wonderhussy steered us to our next destination. Unfortunately, because of rain, what was once a dry lake had transformed into an actual lake, its waters stretching knee-deep from our path to the mountains on the distant horizon. Nearby, several happy trucks joyfully splashed around in the muddy waters. We opted for another location instead.

We drove to an old, rusty building near a deserted silver mine. Sarah mentioned it might be her last photo shoot there because the building was in worse shape than she remembered. I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty in places like this. Give me a camera, and I could spend days taking pictures there. I’ve seen beautiful photos of nude models in similar settings, but personally, I don’t think they mix well. I prefer more lively and vibrant locations for such shoots. But as the saying goes, "you get what you get and you don't get upset." After all, a good photo is all about the right composition, light, and shadows.

We got lucky with the weather. I always thought of Las Vegas as sunny, but that day, the rain and clouds provided perfect, soft lighting. It made my job much easier.

The building was in bad shape but the roof provided some shelter from the rain. It got really cold, so we had to hurry. Sarah bravely climbed the roof, nude, to get some good angles. I was worried because there were a lot of sharp things lying around, but she was okay. The building was close to a busy highway and cars passing by could easily see us. I asked Sarah if this bothered her, but she said she didn’t mind and it had never been a problem for her.

This was a big change from what I was used to on the East Coast. One time, I had my camera on a tripod in a wooded area, a good distance from the highway, trying to capture long exposure shots of passing cars. But someone reported me quickly, and the police showed up in just a few minutes. I had a tough time explaining what I was doing, and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

Sarah brought along various accessories. I wasn't particularly interested in them, but a pair of red shoes caught my attention because they looked so out of place there. We took some photos with them anyway. As we continued, Sarah got covered in dirt, and the cold was becoming unbearable. We decided to call it a day and headed back to the car. We turned the heater on and warmed up as we drove back to Las Vegas.
